Every year, we look forward with eager anticipation to the Met Costume Institute's annual gala. The clothes are weird, wacky and over the top. It's like an episode of "Dancing with the Stars," only with A-List celebrities.

But this year was just a big disappointment. With a superhero theme, we thought we would see lots of inspired choices but mostly they just seemed like regular red carpet wear instead of the usual eye-dropping looks.

Which superhero was Katie Holmes supposed to be?



Ho-hum.



We love David Beckham so much that we forgive him for letting his wife go out of the house looking like a wax statue.



The real superheroes of the night are the straps on Giselle's dress, for keeping her cleavage in check. Tom Brady looks very dapper with his hair slicked back.



Now THIS is more like what you might expect out of the Met gala – over the top and fabulous! Eva Longoria Parker looks absolutely stunning.
