When we found out about Reese Witherspoon becoming the Avon Global Ambassador, we checked the calendar to make sure it was August 1st, and not April 1st.

Don't get us wrong. We love Avon products. They have some great nail polishes and lip glosses. But despite this, big-name actresses like Reese usually dole out their image for higher-end cosmetics and perfumes like Chanel or Clinique.

Then we read a little closer and realize that it is also for charity. Apparently (and unbeknownst to us), Avon has a foundation that focuses on women's issues, specifically breast cancer, domestic violence and emergency relief efforts. In her role as the first-ever Avon Ambassador, she will be the Foundation's Honorary Chairperson.

If Reese can use her fame to bring more awareness and money to the cause, more power to her. We just wonder if she was wearing Avon on that famous face of hers at the press conference yesterday.
