Christian Siriano Put His Flatiron Down …

… long enough to finally debut his collection for Bluefly.com, which was part of the prize package he got by winning Project Runway. Yeah, we know it takes a long time to make a collection but considering he has been everywhere since he won, we thought maybe he wasn't actually designing. From beauty pageants to guest stings on Ugly Betty, the boy certainly knows how to work the media.

So does that ability to work the media transfer over to working his collection? Well, considering most of the collection is sold out, we guess so. Still available is this Dinner at 8 jacket, yours for a mere $520 – and that's a discount!

For just $70 more, you can instead get this poofy-sleeved blouse that is called the Posh. No doubt he named it after finale judge Victoria Beckham, who went absolutely gaga over Christian and his Bryant Park collection, if you recall. We wonder if she would wear this?

Or try this Red Carpet Shift Dress, which is a bargain at $325 compared to the rest of the items still available.

We think that these items are OK, but don't quite live up to the promise that made Christian the season 4 winner. Not fierce enough!

FitFlops are No Flop

Quite awhile back we blogged about the sold-out FitFlops, a thick-soled thong that is supposed to destabilize your foot just enough to make the muscles in your legs and gluteus maximus (read: booty) work harder. This was supposed to help you tone your muscles and look better. So we asked: do they work?

Well, 1 million people can't be wrong, can they? That is how many FitFlops have been sold to date, with thousands of buyers writing testimonials about how they work. Of course, you still have to diet and exercise to be toned but these apparently help. Just don't expect them to do all the work.

Since the FitFlops seem to be here to stay (or at least an extended stay), some designers have taken a stab at making the sandals seem less utility and more stylish. The above hybrid shoes are the result.

We gotta say, we don't love them. The fuchsia colored one with the white base, we like that one and would probably wear it, whether it was a FitFlop or not. However, the rest (and particularly the black one in the middle) are just not our style. Not saying they are bad, we just wouldn't go for them. Would you?

Smart. Edgy. Chic.

These three words are what we think about when we think about designer Nicole Miller. And now we offer these fine bags right here at Baghaus. Want to know why we think of these three words? Let us explain, with the help of visual aids, of course:

Nicole Lee Patent Quilted Tote - $70.00

Smart, because you will look smart for buying such beautiful bags at such low prices. Where else are you going to find a patent leatherette tote that is expertly quilted and has such great color details like this? The answer – nowhere else.

Nicole Lee Multi-Zipper Patent Tote - $72.00

Edgy because that explains a bag like the new Multi-Zipper Patent Tote. Zippers as accessories have never been used quite like this. It is eye-catching, stunning and has a decidedly urban feel yet can be used for everyday purposes whether you are running errands or doing something fun like lunching or having a spa day.

Nicole Lee Chain Link Handbag - $68.00

Chic because a bag like this takes a popular look (chains) and transforms it into something gorgeous and affordable for the everyday woman, and not just celebs who can afford the thousand dollar price tags that come with the newest "It" bags.

So now you know what we think of Nicole Miller bags. From the way they are flying out of our warehouse, we think our customers might just feel the same.

Pushing Buttons

Normally, when you push someone's buttons, that is a bad thing. But when the buttons are on a handbag, that just means you are closing the purse up, like in a button closure of some sort. But what if the buttons are on a wallet?

Urban Expressions Pushlock Wallet - $25.00

Buttons on a wallet? Surely we jest! But no, we are not jesting – our newest wallets are pushbutton closure, making them similar to a small, thin clutch that is a wallet instead of a purse. How cute is that! And this new Urban Expressions Pushlock Wallet almost looks like a red carpet clutch, without the red carpet price. For only $25 (on sale for a limited time) you can get this unique and gorgeous wallet that you will keep forever.

Giraffe Print Pushbutton Wallet - $22.00

Our new Giraffe Print Pushbutton Wallet is another keeper. This bag has the same pushbutton closure as UE one, but with the ever-popular giraffe print on it. This is a great wallet with plenty of slots for dollar bills and credit or debit cards. It even has a clear panel for your ID or driver's license and a small zippered pocket for change and other tiny items. In fact, both pushbutton wallets have all of these features.

So what are you waiting for? Be the first in your circle to own a pushbutton wallet.

Headband Mania

We love keeping up with all of the most current fashion trends, but sometimes it is good to also keep up with hair and beauty trends, as well. Even if your hair is a bit unruly like ours. So let's change gear and go with hair today, shall we?

OK, let us update our previous statement – it is usually a good idea to change gears, unless it is the new headband craze. Now, don't get us wrong – it is good to keep your hair away from your face, particularly in the hot, dog days of summer.

When a celeb like Vanessa Hudgens is spotted wearing multiple styles of the same trend, that is normally not a good thing. It means potential overkill. Kind of like the gladiator sandal trend we blogged about last week. There is good, bad and overexposed.

And this headband craze is bordering on overexposed. Even if we do think Emmy Rossum and Natalie Portman look great in theirs. And who doesn't love anything that is bejeweled on top of your head – even if it isn't a tiara.

OK, we take that back. Not everything bejeweled on top of your head is a good thing. Just look at Lauren Conrad and Maria Menounos.

New Releases: Urban Expressions

Our Urban Expressions line started out with just a few bags but has wildly grown in popularity since then. The collection has expanded and keeps on growing, as virtually each week our new releases have a few new UE offerings. This week's include:

Urban Expressions Virtuoso Purse - $64.00

Our Urban Expressions Virtuoso Purse lives up to its name. A virtuoso is a person who is a master of his or her field – and this bag could certainly be considered a master of the UE collection, or any handbag collection!

Urban Expressions Balloon Bag - $60.00

The Balloon Bag is so named for its unique shape – it will definitely turn heads! Buy it in burgundy, grey or tan – or maybe one of each!

Urban Expressions Cameo Bag - $60.00

Our Cameo Bag is faux croc at its finest and classiest. This bag goes great with day or night clothes or even for the office. Choose from black, brown, cream or tan.

Urban Expressions Versatile Weekender - $62.00

What makes our Versatile Weekender so versatile? Well, it is big enough to use as an overnight or weekend bag, but small enough to carry for a day of shopping or errands when you don't want to end up with a dozen different plastic shopping bags.

Urban Expressions Pushlock Wallet - $25.00

The Pushlock Wallet is bound to become a Baghaus classic. It's like a frame bag, but in a wallet size that is easy to grab and go for women on the run who don't have time to change purses, or don't want to carry one.

Ch-Ch-Changes

Change is usually a good thing – especially when it means more money in your pocket. And that is exactly what we are doing here at Baghaus.com – changing things up just a little bit.

We have had a policy that enables you to get free ground shipping if your order totals $100 or more. That isn't what has changed. You will still get free shipping with $100 orders, but now if you want to order less than that amount, shipping is just $4.95.

That's right - $4.95 flat rate shipping if your order is less than $100. That's not a bad deal at all, particularly when you consider how expensive shipping has gotten due to rising gas costs and a slumping economy.

But wait, there is more! Find out what else is new after the jump

Let the Sunshine In

Ah, sunshine. We wait all winter for it, then it comes and seems to pass all too quickly. Though we love the jackets, sweaters and coats of fall, we still crave our summery dresses and bold, vibrant accessories that mark the sunny months.

Sunshine Purse - $56.00

When you have a bag like our Sunshine Purse, you can extend the sunny fun past Labor Day. A bag like this will still look good in fall, particularly if you live in a warmer climate. With its roomy interior and neutral brown handles we think there are plenty of ways to wear it even as the thermometer cools down.

Melie Bianco Side Bow Hobo - $55.00

Want something a little more uniform in color? Try our Melie Bianco Side Bow Hobo. With a single bow on the side that is feminine without being girly, this beautiful bag will be a part of your wardrobe for years to come – no matter what the season.

Striped Shoulder Tote - $54.00

Playing off the success of our colorful and seasonal bucket totes, this Striped Shoulder Tote pairs a deep bag with plenty of room with colorful stripes that can either accent the outfit or really make the outfit.

Right now, buy any of these bags at a discount during our big summer sale. The prices and quantities won't last long so stock up now!

Girl Power!

Not so long ago, a movie studio head honcho made headlines for notoriously saying that he wouldn't greenlight anymore pictures where a woman is the top star, because women can't carry a picture all on their own.

Not so fast!

Women are getting it done all over the place this summer. This really is the year of the woman in entertainment. First, the "Sex and the City" movie does way more business than anyone anticipated.

Angelina Jolie's "Wanted" does huge ticket sales despite the actress being MIA for the press tours and premieres as she awaits the birth of her twins.

Author Stephanie Meyer is primed to become the next J.K. Rowling with the anticipation leading up to the last installment in her vampire book series, which is now being made into a set of movies starring Oscar winner Anna Paquin.

But that's not all! Katy Perry's first album just debuted and her hit single "I Kissed a Girl" has been #1 on the charts for a full three weeks now, hanging in there with other big female stars like Mariah Carey and Madonna who have had big summers of their own.

Movies, music, books – the women have it covered in the entertainment industry. Ladies, we salute you!
