With the newest FAA restrictions on what you can and can't bring onto a plane, some people are packing light in their carry-on bags. And we won't even get into the whole taking off your shoes thing, since we always manage to get behind the person who never heard of a pedicure.
But our favorite Hollywood starlets aren't letting a little thing like Homeland Security cramp their airport style.

Jessica Simpson shows that you can still look glam while dressing down. She is carrying the new Cavalli leopard print bag, but we think she would look better with one of our adorable new giraffe print bags instead.

Despite our week-long foray into the fall fashion trends, a few more seem to have popped up, and we of course are all over it. In addition to the dark patent leather colors and fresh purple and fuchsia colors that you will be seeing lots of, these are also big trends for fall:

Jeweled necklines are big for fall. Why wear a necklace when you can wear your jewels on your actual dress, and not have to worry about losing them or having them fall off? We think these are cute and very sophisticated, though probably quite pricey, even for non-designer versions of these frocks.

Animal print scarves are all the rage. We personally aren't big fans but they are a nice way to add a stylish accessory to your look, and many can be had on the cheap.

The jury is still out on these multi-colored vests, we predict they will catch on only nominally.

Belted dresses are a big fall tend, but you can never have too many belts of varying sizes, colors and materials. So why not use them on some of your longer fall tunics as well?

This is maybe our favorite new trend. Simple, easy to buy and allows you to use your white jeans after labor day! What could be better?
Yep, we have more bright colors for fall! If you live in a region where it's not very cold or dreary, then you might not notice much of a difference between your summer and fall wardrobe, at least color-wise.

As you can see from this picture, there are many different shades of purple. It can range from a very dark shade of purple like Kirsten Dunst's plum Prada dress to a much brighter magenta hue that would definitely rival the fuschia fall trend that we are also blogging about today.

Now this is a whole LOT of purple! We don't hate the look, but we might tone it down a bit. We love though that the purples don't all match – no need to be matchy-matchy all the time.

These shoes, available from zappos.com are gorgeous! We want a pair in every color. Our bank account tells us to only pick one color, though.

Jessica Simpson gives her seal of approval, pairing purple with a neutral shade of boots. Courtney Cox goes for a more traditional contrast with all-black accessories, including her sunglasses.

Meanwhile, the new star of the London production of "Chicago," Kelly Osbourne, loves her purple Donna Karan dress. Too bad Kellie Pickler liked it, too.
The best revenge for a bad breakup with a controlling jerk is to look fabulous and be successful. If you can do both of these things at the same time in the public eye, then that is even better. Our poor, dumped Jessie Simpson tried to do both those things and came out with some rather uneven results.
First, she changed from the brown hair that Mayer apparently wanted back to her trademark blonde. She is also back to filming movies, though we won't talk about her track record with that one. But the most public display of her having moved on came at last week's Miami fashion shows, where she debuted her swimwear line. Let's take a look at some of the pieces, shall we?
Not only is this piece very basic, but we are distracted by the fact that the model in question looks like Denise Richards trying to regain her youth. Oh, and the hat just doesn't look right with this.
More of Jessica Simpson's new bikini line after the jump
Somehow in the last two weeks, we went from having John Mayer and Jessica Simpson breaking up, to making up two days later in New York City to them apparently having issues again. Then somehow, we learn they have broken up "over a dozen" times, making them amongst the elite of the on-again, off-again couples (see Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson).
However, we would be lying if we said that our biggest concern is whether or not Jessie got back together with John. Our main concern is that the recently born-again blonde doesn't try to go back to the various shades of brown that she had been sporting recently. See, according to US Weekly, Mayer asked Simpson to change to brown so people would take her more seriously. "John told Jessica that she has to change," says a source. “He didn’t want to be dating this ‘blonde bimbo.’”
Well, Mr. Mayer, she may be a bimbo, but she is OUR bimbo, and we love her as a blonde (which we admit helps sell the bimbo image). Jessica made her fortunate by being a little flaky (though we suspect she is smarter than she lets on) and by being a blonde. If you can't love her how she is, then move on! You obviously have bad taste if you think this:

is more attractive than this:

Jessie, Jessie, Jessie! For someone with their own hair guru and hair extension line, for someone with a stylist, plenty of cash and John Mayer, you sure do look blue lately – or should we say brown.
You see, we haven't really bagged on Jessica Simpson's brown hair because we thought it was just a short phase. You know, like when Cameron went black for a few weeks, then gradually let it lighten to her signature blonde:

But Jessica seems to really love the brown hair look, and we don't know why she would go away from the blonde look that made her famous:

You see there, she looks great, fresh, sexy and beautiful all at once. With her recent brown looks she just looks kinda – well, mousy. And the worst part is, she can't seem to make up her mind what shade or length of brown to make her locks:

Actually, she looks OK in each of those pics, even if she was trying too hard to look sultry in the third one. But we still insist that brown is just not her color. Perhaps it is because sometimes her ubber tan makes it hard to differentiate the hue of her hair from that of her face, or perhaps it's because some of her worse styling or makeup miscues have come while she went brunette. Case in point:

What, is she auditioning for the next Austin Powers film?

Uh, do we need to make a caption for this one?

Sorry, it's just not working for us.
Definitely. Not. Working.
We blogged last week about the much-maligned fashion malady that is high-waisted pants and jeans. So far, only Mischa Barton had lost fashionista points for wearing the dreaded blunder, not once but twice (gasp!) while in dreary London last week. Thankfully, Mischa then jetted off to Paris where she was seen in dresses and mini skirts all around the City of Lights. She therefore earned some of her points back.
But now, Baghaus was horrified to learn over the weekend that Jessica Simpson has been spotted in the mommy pants as well.

You know the world is coming to an end when…
This could be the worst decision Jessica has made since thinking that The Dukes of Hazard would be a great launch to her acting career.
We already forgave the fabulous Scarlett Johansson for her fashion transgression with the ugly pants, and let us tell you, that was some SERIOUS forgiveness. Look at her, mommy jeans that put on 10lbs and then a see-through black top with a white bra underneath? Was she auditioning for Housewives Gone Wild?

One day we'll all look back together and laugh.
We are having a harder time forgiving everyone else, because the more these pants show up in photos, the bigger the chance there is of them catching on. Like sequined headbands, legwarmers and skinny ties, the mommy pants need to be buried in the fashion graveyard, ASAP!
"Forget about holding her hand, man. Think about the damage he could do to other places."

Jessica Simpson and boyfriend John Mayer Edward Scissorhands were recently spotted lunching it in West Hollywood over the weekend. Hmmm…
As much as we love John for his music, this is just one celebrity couple we can't endorse. We tried, but we just can't. More on John Mayer vs. Fendi Bag
