Metallics were all the rage during spring and summer. Dark, glossy metallic bags, pumps and even luggage got a lot of attention, and deservedly so. It had been awhile since we had seen such chic interpretations of the shiny metal colors.

Fall and winter are still about the shiny aspect of the metallic craze, but this time in patent leather. And not just any patent leather, but dark almost gothic colors. Kate Moss's smoky grey patent leather purse is a great example of a beautiful patent color that goes with plenty and doesn't have to be the basic black we all think of automatically when you think patents. The Tory Burch Mercedes trench is another example, though a very pricey one at $1,995.
For a less expensive way to introduce colorful dark patents into your wardrobe, you can try our bags at baghaus.com. We have the deep bronze patent satchel inspired by Miu Miu for only $52.99.

Or you can also find this Baghaus Navy Natasha patent tote inspired by Kooba for $49.99.

These black Ferragamo shoes are amazing, but are sure to cost a lot more then what most people can afford

This blue patent leather dress by Balenciaga doesn't look very comfortable but since when is fashion about comfort? It's still killer but again, not sure we would go for it in reality.
We gotta say, we have been quite worried about Kate Moss for some time now. Not only was there that little cocaine incident but then there is the on-again, off-again relationship with Pete Doherty, who doesn’t exactly strike us as a good influence.
But no matter what is going on in her private life, her professional life is flourishing, particularly her new clothing line. Kate put out her first line for Top Shop to rave reviews, and now the summer line has just been unveiled as well.
The verdict? We love it! Here is possibly our favorite piece out of the whole collection:

The yellow is all the rage right now, though a little muted, which we like. Not everyone can pull off banana yellow! We also adore the Guatemalan-themed pieces, particularly this adorable 'playsuit':

There are a few surprisingly detailed pieces, like this yellow and black hotpant:

We think its great, but we just have one problem. Topshop is of course a UK company. Though they do deliver to the US, there are quite a few extra fees for shipping and handling and we have heard grumblings of US order getting cancelled. You can buy most of the pieces through Barney's New York, but the prices are much higher than the UK ones. Even if you nearly double the UK price (roughly the US conversion rate), it is still half the price of the Barney's prices. Let's hope Toshop gets it together so fans in the US can get a hold of these surprisingly affordable clothes.
