Celebs Won't be the Only Scarce Thing at Fashion Week

We blogged recently about the lack of celebrities that will be gracing the tents at next month's New York Fashion Week. Regular attendees such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson will be skipping the events, supposedly because of the Emmy Awards being the same week.

We are sure established models like Ksenia Belaya won't be affected, but many will.

But now it appears that there may be a lack of models that will appear as well. The vast majority of models used during Fashion Week are not Americans. This means that these girls have to be issued a Visa in order to enter the country to work.

Due to heightened restrictions for Visas, it is very possible that several young models originally slated for Fashion Week runways may have to be scratched. This is especially true if the model is new and hasn't worked much yet.

Will we be seeing a lot of Du Juan on the runways again this season, to replace Visa-less models?

Since fashion is all about what is 'now' and fresh faces, this is a potentially huge setback. Fewer models will now be doing more work, which is not something that will make most designers happy.

We only wonder if there will be any other setbacks for the week-long event. Perhaps a white tent shortage?
