Chanel Couture Runway Rundown

Alright, so we critiqued a few starlets and what they wore to the couture shows in Paris this week. Now, it's time to critique some of the collections themselves. We are going to start where many a good fashion critique starts, with Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel.

Yikes! Its The Aviator meets Howard the Duck!

We kinda like these, if it was toned down a bit we would probably wear them.

Gorgeous color but a little too monochromatic for my taste.

Yikes!

We'd totally wear this, sans the leather. We are afraid we would have to hose ourselves down or use copious amounts of Vaseline in order to get that stuff on.

Cute, but again a little too monochrome for our taste. Or perhaps that's the point. We have never pretended to completely understand Lagerfeld when he goes couture.

We know quilted patterns and knits are big for fall, but we just don't like this skirt. It actually looks rather cheaply done and not up to Chanel standards.

OK, we take back everything we said about the previous entries being too monochrome. This one takes the cake. When your leggings are not only the same pattern but the same heavy material, it's time to stop being so matchy-matchy and get a little variety in.

Overall, we thought the collection was OK, but not quite as stunning and not nearly as over-the-top as we like out of our couture shows. If you want to see the rest, go to Vogue online and see the gallery that has multiple views of each piece.
