Convertible Shoes: A Concept Whose Time Has Come
An insurance company that caters mostly to women sounds a little gimmicky to us. When we heard that a UK insurer was doing just that, we laughed about it. Then, when we heard that they did a study about the effects of stilettos and other high heels on driving safety, we laughed even harder.
When we heard that they invented a pair of shoes that were convertible from a heel to a flat for driving, we were rolling.
Then we actually saw the shoes in question.

At first, we were slightly put off by the ribbon-looking stripe on the back. Then we thought they looked a little mechanical because you can see the lines of where the shoe folds due to the pink lining.
Then, they grew on us.
Let's face it – those shoes are not only highly inventive, but they are pretty stylish too. We love the pink lining (we have a black clutch purse with the same color pink lining and we adore it). We wish they came in other colors besides just the pink (due to the stripe on the back, not the inner lining) and a pair that is just black would be ideal. We love patent leather, but we would also like some that aren't shiny, too.
But most of all, we want these to be sold in the US as well. Right now they are only available in the UK, but we will keep you informed if that changes.
