Crimson Tide
There were some surprises in the winner's category of this year's Academy Awards (Marion Cotillard for Best Actress and Tilda Swinton for Best Supporting Actress) but unfortunately the surprises on the red carpet were few and far between.

Red ruled the night at the Oscars. And though we love red and it's never a bad thing, sometimes you can suffer form overload. But, we will trudge on and show you some of the standout red gowns from this year's ceremony, such as Anne Hathaway's Marchesa frock.

We didn't care for Miley Cyrus' red gown. We thought she looked a bit too adult and her makeup was too much for a girl who is only 15 years old.

We absolutely loved Katherine Heigl's dress. It hugged every single curve on her body and really made her face glow. She may have flubbed her lines during her presentation but she still looked hot doing it.

Last year's big winner in the Best Actress category shows everyone how its done in this Georges Chakra gown and Swarokski crystal jacket.

We don't know what model Heidi Klum was doing at the show (was "Project Runway" nominated for an Oscar?) but she still glowed in this John Galliano gown that will be auctioned off for charity.
