Emma Roberts: Will She Fall to the Dooney and Bourke Curse?

We have to say, the recent glut of celebuspawns pains us. In case you are wondering what a celebuspawn is, they are children or other family members of celebrities who become famous by association, and not because they are talented. Nicole Richie comes to mind, as does Rumer Willis, daughter of Bruce and Demi. She was invited to a hotel opening in Canada recently to make an appearance and was photographed extensively. Why? She has no discernable talent that we can see, and yet she is a 'celebrity' somehow. Oy, vey!

When we first heard that young Emma Roberts (niece of Julia Roberts) was going to star in the new Nancy Drew movie, we thought she was another Nicole or Rumer. But in fact, not only does the young Miss Roberts have some acting chops, but apparently some mighty fine fashion sense as well. Dooney and Bourke recently took notice, and have made a line of handbags not only for her to hawk, but that was named after her as well! Oh, and she helped design them, to boot! We hate her (wink wink). Especially because we think this bag is ADORABLE!

Emma's collection can be at Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor, Macy's, and Nordstrom's ranging from $210-255 starting in October
Now that we have given you the background information, let's get you up to speed about the Curse we talked about in the title. Why would a budding movie starlet with her own handbag collection be at risk? Well, she joins a long line of budding starlets who become spokesmodels for the line. The others? None other than Mischa Barton, she of the recent hospital visit after mixing alcohol and who knows what else, and Lindsay Lohan, currently making her second visit to Promises Malibu. Break the curse, girl! You don't want to end up another Rehab Wonder!
