Fall Fashion Trend: Belted Dresses

Belted dresses haven't really been popular in awhile. Although everything in fashion eventually recycles itself, we felt that belted dresses had been left out in the cold for far too long.

A good belt that is appropriate for your shape is something that no woman should be without. A good belt around a beautiful dress can help give you a very feminine shape, even for women who don't have an hourglass shape.

Sometimes the belt comes with the dress, as is the case with Jessica Alba's Dolce and Gabbana dress, or the "Jackie O" dress in the picture as well. Pairing the black belt with a camel-colored dress gives a nice contrast and gives you more options with your accessories as well, unlike the more monochromatic look of Alba's.

In fact, we love a lot of contrast for dramatic affect. This Wet Seal dress is exactly the type of eye-catching yet simple pairing that we absolutely love. You don't have to wear something ugly or unseemly to get attention!

Other belted dresses we love:

The low-belted dress by Chloe.

And it's opposite, the high-belted dress from Tahari Arthur S. Levine in classic black.
