Starting this fall (just in time for Christmas, naturally) and into 2008, the folks at Bravo are going to start lending the Project Runway name out to several companies.

The reason we are a little snarky about it is because we absolutely love the show, and licensing the name out just seems to take away some of the wind from its wings. Of course, it really depends on what they license it to. So far, it will be Project Runway sewing machines, cloths and patterns.

So basically you will be able to go to Mood like the show's contestants and buy fabrics with the Project Runway name. We hope they are careful about what patterns they use, as fashion is so fickle and becomes outdated so quickly. It would be tragic if the patterns were hot today and a laughingstock the next, but still carrying the name.

There will also be jewelry, which is confusing. How jewelry and Project Runway are connected is not quite as easy as Brother sewing machines. Yeah we know, the models wear accessories but it's still a bit of a stretch. The jury is definitely still out on this one
