RIP:YSL
The recent passing of fashion legend Yves Saint Laurent has left a big hole in the industry. He has created some of the most iconic looks of all time and made it OK for women to wear pants again in a chic way as far back as 30 years ago.

After the sudden passing of Christian Dior, Laurent took over the design house in 1958, paving the way for a legendary career. Just a few years later in the 1960s, he announced the opening of his own design house, leaving Dior in good hands.

Much of his early work has been described as Mod, and we have to agree.

Ever a risk-taker, he introduced peasant looks and full skirts (that are now back in fashion) to the Paris Elite in the 1970s. It was a big hit.

We have blogged before about his "Le Smoking" tuxedo suits and how they made wearing pants day or (gasp!) night acceptable for women. This was considered scandalous back in the day. Good thing we have come so far since then!

Extensions of his work can be seen in modern-day fashion as well, as you can see here.
There isn't enough room on one blog to go through all his clothes, not to mention accessories and perfumes. So we will just leave this small tribute be, and wish him peace, wherever he may be.
