See, Models Aren't Perfect!
Last night, Christian Dior held its much-anticipated runway show to display their eagerly-awaited Cruise line. Well, the show (but not necessarily the line itself) more than lived up to the hype, but for all the wrong reasons.
Now, before we get into the juicy details, we must say that John Galliano was at the helm of the collection, which is always interesting, if not bizarre. We love Galliano overall but sometimes we wonder if he took too many drugs in the 70s, especially when we see what he had the Breathing Mannequins (AKA, the models) wearing on their feet.

Now, let's preface this by saying that the color of the shoes is great, and perfect for a cruise. But what on EARTH was he smoking when he came up with the idea to put a circle of balls on the bottom of a stiletto, which is already hard enough to wear whilst trying to navigate a wave-shaped (Cruise them, get it?) runway?
As you can imagine, even the most seasoned catwalkers had issues with the shoes, with no less than four tumbles (two by the same girl, Malana!) including Galliano himself when he came out at the end of the show.

Rumor has it that a few people were quite upset at the tumbling, with one model having to be helped down the runway because she had tweaked (and maybe even twisted) her ankle. Luckily, not everyone had marbles appliquéd to the bottom of their shoes, and the rest of the show went off without a hitch. But we can't help but find its a little funny that models who are paid to walk fell. There is a small part of our mere mortal genes that is laughing on the inside, even if we don't show it on the outside.

What a waste of resources to make these shoes.
