Break out the Cosmos!

See, sometimes dreams really do come true. All fans of the landmark HBO series Sex and the City can rejoice, as daily Hollywood industry rag Variety has confirmed that the long-shelved movie is a go!
According to Variety.com, series producer Michael Patrick King will direct the movie from a script he penned himself. A distribution and production deal (in association with HBO, natch) is about to be inked, making it just a matter of time before film starts rolling.
We have to say, we were not sure if this would ever actually happen. Speculation had run rampant after the series aired its finale, but rumors about Kim Cattrall holding out and a riff between her and Sarah Jessica Parker. Cattrall cleared the air, telling UK's Sunday Mail that she was simply holding out for more money for everyone and thought the film would happen whether she participated or not. Hmph. Not sure we believe her. But who cares?! The movie is now going to happen and it really wouldn't be the same without Cattrall playing the over-sexed Samantha Jones.

We remember when the rumors first started circulating that the script called for Miranda to become Charlotte's adoption lawyer and accompany her to China to adopt her baby. That's all that was leaked, though and it remains to be seen if this is a new script or the same one. But we will keep you posted with all the details.
