Tell Us Something We Don't Know!
The Scottish have recently figured out what most of us have long known – fashion is beautiful and addictive, but can also be bad for your health.

Yep, those sky-high stilettos can cause foot and back pain, and not just temporarily. Using them long-term can eventually cause chronic pain that will last well after you kick your heels off for the evening.
Even the skinny jeans can be dangerous, as too-tight jeans can cause nerve damage. OK, we admit, we didn't realize that one.

The report goes on to chastise sunglasses (scratched ones can be more damaging to the eyes than not wearing them), thong panties if not washed properly and even push-up bras for potentially causing breathing problems.
Now, we are willing to make some concessions. No skinny jeans. Check! We didn't wear them in the first place. Wear more flats, check! They are still in style, thankfully. Make sure our sunglasses are scratch-free. Check! We already did that.
But we draw the line at our beloved handbags. Oversized handbags, according to the report, can cause neck strain and shoulder tendonitis. Pffft! We say it depends on what you are carrying in it. Even the largest of bags barely weighs anything as long as you don't carry a VW Beetle in it.

Seriously, we are not giving up beauties such as this. We'll just start carrying one lip gloss instead of three. The things we do for fashion!

I can speak first-hand about ongoing foot problems caused by stilettos, sadly. I still love the way they look, but I now have bilateral plantar fasciitis and have to limit how frequently I wear heels. Completely flat shoes are just as bad, as they have inadequate arch support.
It is unfortunate, because the beautiful high heels currently en vogue are items I would love to wear. It just is no longer feasible.
Wow Fiona, we are sorry to hear that! Its amazing the things we put ourselves through for the sake of fashion….doesn't mean we'll ever stop doing it though!
