The Newest Trend in Jeans
It seems that Hollywood starlets love their denim so much, they want it in many different colors now.
From electric blue to fire engine red, colored denim is all the rage. Is it a mere fashion flavor-of-the-month, or will it stick it out through summer? Hard to say, considering that most pairs of colored jeans are exorbitantly expensive still. They also seem to mostly come in the skinny jean variety, meaning that not everyone's figure will be flattered by them.
Of course, it can be worse. It can always be worse, as we firmly believe in the Murphy's Law of Fashion. The newest jean trend could be those purposely torn jeans that plagued us years ago:

Oh, wait! Those nasty things ARE a fashion trend! Now readers, we have already written on this hideous fashion atrocity twice. And yet, Ciara and Geri Halliwell have made us have to write about them again. If this trend doesn't stop soon, we are going to have a Joan Crawford fit going on:

On second thought, we love the colored jeans. As long as they are low-rise and don't show your muffin top, and don't look like mommy jeans. In the great words of Tim Gunn, carry on!

Actually, I LOVE high waisted jeans. But I agree that they don't good on all shapes and sizes. Please, if you're above a size 4 (and that's pushing it), STAY AWAY. Unless you're particularly gorgeous or something.

High-waisted jeans are the greatest. But not everyone can wear them. You must be skinny with tiny hips. Otherwise you'll just look like a hippo. But yea they are much better than colored jeans which you can get at wet seal! lol

High waisted jeans are way more flattering! All body types have been wearing them since the 50's. Low rise shorten your legs and make you look like a pit bull.

lets bring back the fashion from the good times. when high-waisted
was the trend and not rainbow-robots from the future.

Sorry Gals, but those low rider jeans are horrible! Thay make your butt flat and they spread it out, they make even a skinny girl look like she has a tire hanging over the top of her jeans and the sight of a dirty thong sticking out in the back is classless and gross! I always thik "skank" when I see that look. High Waisted jeans prevent muffin top and make you look taller. They also make you look like less of a "skank"!

High waisted jeans are horrific. No matter how you look at it they don't flatter anyone. High waisted slacks are a bit easier to pull off but jeans……….eeewwww. And from the rear view, they make your backside look about 3 feet long. Not flattering ever!

I'm not one to run to the store to buy "the latest" trend, because trends come and go. As for high-waisted jeans, they looked good on certain bodies, as do low-rise denim. I'm not sure about colors though- seems like a fashion faux pas to me.
I think low-rise is best for the 25-and under set. It pains me to see a woman of 45 or so wearing ill-fitting low-rise jeans just so she can be 'fashionable'. Butt-crack is NEVER attractive, not on a man, and certainly not on a woman!
