When Agathe Planchon set out to make her first series of Gustto bags, she looked to Italy for inspiration, even though she herself was born in France. Though the French Riviera has long inspired fashion, books and design, it was the Italian Riviera that caught her eye, more specifically the northwestern region in and around Portofino.

The result is a set of bags that have a decidedly European influence, with both the charming aesthetic of Portofino and the chic look of France having influences throughout her collection. It goes to show that you can do what you know and what is familiar, but it doesn't hurt to branch out.

In the same vein, we as Americans can also be decidedly American while still dressing and accessorizing ourselves with European influences, such as with the Gustto bags.
