Will the Real Valentino Please Stand Up?
We love Valentino, like most big name designers who really seem to know how to make clothes look great on a woman's body. Baghaus even has several bags inspired by Valentino because they really are that popular.
One thing that we don't think will be quite as popular, however, is the new Valentino Cruise Line for 2008. Unveiled last week, this cruise line didn't have any of the drama of the unveiling of the Galliano-led Dior Cruise line (which featured more than one model falling over in their impossible-to-walk-in shoes), it also didn't have any of the good pieces that Dior had either. In fact, we rather hate the collection and will show you a few examples why.

This look screams bored housewife to us. It's been done, and better. We also don't care for the styling, this girl is probably very pretty in life but you wouldn't know it from the way her hair and makeup were done. If he was going for anti-glam, he sure achieved it.

Yawn! Stop us if you have seen this dress before. Oh wait, you have.

Perhaps the worst-fitting jacket we have ever seen down a runway, Dior or any other.

You get the idea. There just isn't much here to work with. It's simple and some pieces are nice, but nice just doesn't cut it for Valentino. We expected a lot more, Cruise line or not
